A survey by Dimensional Research on mobile data security was released in January 2012.  Some of the key findings in the research are:

  • 89% of those surveyed use mobile devices and tablets to access corporate information
  • 71% of those surveyed report mobile devices contributed to security incidents
  • 72% of those surveyed found that the main security concern is careless employees
  • At 30%, Apple iOS is the most popular platform for enterprise access, but Windows platform is at a respectable 18%. Android is the most risky

The completed report can be founded on the CheckPoint web site.

This research is based on a survey of 768 IT professionals conducted in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan. The goal of the survey was to gather data about current mobile computing trends, including the type of data stored or accessed on mobile devices, as well as the potential for heightened data security risks.
